High Tide Coffee and Bowls

Fenwick Island

We were in the paint store on Route 1 in Fenwick and they recommended the coffee shop in their strip mall for lunch.  We gave it a shot and were happy we did.  High Tide Coffee and Bowls was a nice experience, the coffee was good but the food was better.  I like strong coffee, so Starbucks is my gold standard for basic coffee.  I got pumpkin flavored and one of us got gingerbread.  Both good but I would have like the coffee taste stronger.  My wife and I split a Funky Monkey overnight oats bowl.  I eat healthy and often eat oatmeal.  So for me this was great.  My wife also really enjoyed it.  The mix of toppings were great and it was a lot to consume.  Our other guest got the Sprouted Mermaid sandwich.  She really enjoyed it with her gingerbread coffee.  Lots of room inside, interesting items to browse and purchase and a very friendly and helpful staff.  I'd highly recommend stopping by even if you aren't out shopping for paint.

Fractured Prune Donuts

We try to eat healthy so we use all of our self control to only visit the Fractured Prune once per visit.  The best donuts in the area.  Made to order, hot when handed to you and covered in delicious toppings.  Ocean City Sand is probably the family's overall favorite (cinnamon and sugar).  Close runner's up are Black Forrest and Reese's.  Definitely a highlight of each trip to the beach.  You'll thank me for this recommendation.

Sweet Frog Frozen Yogurt

Ocean City

If we have any room left after a great meal at Longboard we'll stop into Sweet Frog for a cup of Fro-Yo.  A very nice, clean yogurt shop with about 10 or 12 flavors of frozen yogurt to choose from and a ton of toppings.  I like that they display the calorie counts for each flavor so you can go "light" if you want.  My wife loves the Original Tart flavor with a bunch of fruit on it.  I usually go for the cookies and cream with a little cheesecake in it.  The white chocolate mousse is also great.  Pay by the ounce so you can indulge as much as you want.

Dolle's Candyland

Ocean City

OK, so even though we're from NJ and spent tons of time at the shore, we're not salt water taffy people.  However, on one of the social media sites my wife follows she read that someone was looking for soft salt water taffy. She told me about ti which is strange because she's openly not a taffy fan.  She mentioned that an answer to the soft taffy question was Dolle's and we both thought it strange because we never thought of the softness of taffy.  So with this intriguing info, curiousity got the best of us and we stopped in and grabbed a small bag of flavors we like.  Well, we're taffy lovers now.  This stuff is very good.  My wife like the anise one best (probably because she can't find a lot of candy that flavor).  For me it was the Peanut Butter by far.  And not the Chocolate PB, the plain PB was much better.  But all of the flavors we tried were good.  Thanks to the soft taffy social poster for leading us to a great, summer treat.
