The Mill Creamery

If you like overpaying for ice cream with little taste, this place is for you.  We got a peanut butter/chocolate flavor and ordered a small cup.  Well their idea of small is miniscule.  They should have called it a shot of ice cream.  It was a small cup, which I expected, but it was about half full.  I'd estimate about a half of a scoop of ice cream.  And it cost $6.00.  So you may be thinking, was it the best ice cream you ever tasted?  Well, no, unfortunately if was not very flavorful, which you would expect from a chocolate peanut butter flavor (or any high end, $6/small ice cream).  Do not go unless you want do donate money to people who over charge.

Fisher's Popcorn

Fenwick Island

If you like popcorn you'll love Fisher's popcorn.  A trip to the OC area is not complete without a tin of Fisher's.  The caramel corn is amazing.  Sweet, caramelly (if that's a word) and salty.  Not to mention fresh, not a stale box of popcorn.  You can also get cheddar and butter, both also good.  We highly recommend having a tin in the kitchen on your next vacation.  Beware, it can be addictive.  :)

First State Corn and More Food Truck

home owner 0 577 Article rating: 5.0

Driving through Rehobeth on Route 1, looking for something quick for lunch we noticed a food truck behind the Chick-Fil-A.  Always looking for something new and different we stopped by.  Wow. Different was an understatement.   Delicious food.  We got the Mexican Street Corn Cup (not on the cob which they offer but the cup looked like the way to go), the pulled pork baked potatoe and the brisket burger.  The corn was amazing and like nothing I'd ever had.  Creamy and flavorful.  The potatoe was the biggest potatoe I had ever seen, covered with delicious pulled pork and barbecue sauce.  It was great.  And my wife said the burger was one of the best she's ever had, and she loves her burgers.  This place is a hidden gem (literally hidden by Chick-Fil-A).  Go here to eat.  And the husband and wife who own it are great.  He makes all of the bread used in all of the dishes.

High Tide Coffee and Bowls

Fenwick Island

We were in the paint store on Route 1 in Fenwick and they recommended the coffee shop in their strip mall for lunch.  We gave it a shot and were happy we did.  High Tide Coffee and Bowls was a nice experience, the coffee was good but the food was better.  I like strong coffee, so Starbucks is my gold standard for basic coffee.  I got pumpkin flavored and one of us got gingerbread.  Both good but I would have like the coffee taste stronger.  My wife and I split a Funky Monkey overnight oats bowl.  I eat healthy and often eat oatmeal.  So for me this was great.  My wife also really enjoyed it.  The mix of toppings were great and it was a lot to consume.  Our other guest got the Sprouted Mermaid sandwich.  She really enjoyed it with her gingerbread coffee.  Lots of room inside, interesting items to browse and purchase and a very friendly and helpful staff.  I'd highly recommend stopping by even if you aren't out shopping for paint.
