Bethany Blues Restaurant

We wanted to go walking on the boardwalk in Bethany and grab dinner.   It was off season so  lot was closed but we saw a good crowd at Bethany Blues.  Somehow we didn't realize it was a BBQ place but were pleasantly surprised.  I got the pulled chicken with some healthy sides (carrot slaw and a quinoa salad).  I eat healthy so normally I struggle to find something I'll enjoy and stay healthy at a BBQ place.  This dinner was great.  The chicken seemed smoked but was not sauced.  Barbecue sauces were on the table so you could add what you wanted.  Perfect for me and the sides were very tasty.  My wife went more "normal" for a barbecue order with the pulled pork sandwich and fries.  The sandwich was delicious and the large side of fries were also very good.  The place was hopping off season and I don't think it was because there were few other choices.  It's just a good place to get a good, barbecue dinner and drinks if you are so inclined.

High Tide Coffee and Bowls

Fenwick Island

We were in the paint store on Route 1 in Fenwick and they recommended the coffee shop in their strip mall for lunch.  We gave it a shot and were happy we did.  High Tide Coffee and Bowls was a nice experience, the coffee was good but the food was better.  I like strong coffee, so Starbucks is my gold standard for basic coffee.  I got pumpkin flavored and one of us got gingerbread.  Both good but I would have like the coffee taste stronger.  My wife and I split a Funky Monkey overnight oats bowl.  I eat healthy and often eat oatmeal.  So for me this was great.  My wife also really enjoyed it.  The mix of toppings were great and it was a lot to consume.  Our other guest got the Sprouted Mermaid sandwich.  She really enjoyed it with her gingerbread coffee.  Lots of room inside, interesting items to browse and purchase and a very friendly and helpful staff.  I'd highly recommend stopping by even if you aren't out shopping for paint.

Captain Mac's Seafood

Fenwick Island

Good seafood at good prices.  Many "fresh catches" every day.  They usually have something different that you may not have tried before (I had Tile fish last night).  The platters give you a good sized piece of fish and 2 sides.  The sandwiches are very good, especially the Shrimp Po Boy.  Very casual with picnic tables inside.  Always crowded so get there early.  My only criticism is that there is only one side that I'd consider healthy, the cucumber/tomato salad so I get 2 portions of that.  Captain Mac's is one of our regulars because of the quality and price.

Catch 54

Fenwick Island

Want great food and a great view?  Catch 54 should be on your list.  It's a little on the pricey side but we all enjoyed our app and entrees.  This is my son-in-law's favorite restaurant in the area.  We shared the beer cheese pretzel dip which was a good sixe for 4 to share and delicious.  My wife and I shared the salmon entree special and the Farmer's Bowl.  The salmon was cooked perfectly (medium according to them).  It came with veggies and mashed potatoes, all very good.  And the piece of salmon was a generous portion.  The Farmer's Bowl is a vegetarian dish which you can add fish to if you want.  We got it "sans" fish.  It was very tasty as long as you like califlower because there was a lot of it (maybe 1/4 of the head).  I would have liked the califlower cooked a little more to make it a little softer but it all was good, especially with the sause on it.  We will be back here for special dinners with family.
