Restaurant Reviews, Entertainment, Shopping and Treats

Robin Hood Restaurant

Although there are a lot more trendy food choices in Rehobeth's shopping/boardwalk area, we wandered into the Robin Hood Restaurant.  Basically a diner which is comforting to us New Jerseyans.  Prices were a little high and the portions smaller than we're used to in NJ but the food was VERY GOOD.  I got a garden omelet with egg whites.  Very fresh veggies and cooked perfectly.  The included hash browns were really good too.  My wife got scrambled eggs which were moist and tasty.  I'm surprised we ended up here on our visit to the Rehobeth area but I'm glad we did.

Shotti's Pointe Cafe

Ocean City Boardwalk - near 7th St.

Shotti's Point Cafe is our new favorite for breakfast.  This place puts a twist on everything it serves.  We've only had breakfast there (they serve breakfast all day) but the other options look really interesting.  My personal favorite is the La Jola Breakfast burrito.  This think is awesome.  Eggs cooked perfectly if you like runny yolks (you can ask for hard if you prefer), hash browns, avocado and crispy fried peppers.  I get it without the cheese and sour cream and it doesn't need it.  We've also had the Double Egger and the Tico Burrito.  All good.

Luna's Cactus Cafe

Route 54, Fenwick/Selbyville

The Cactus Cafe is our go to for mexican.  It's close to the house and the food is very good.  The free chips and salsa are fresh and all the menu items we've tried are very tasty.  One standout entre is the seafood enchiladas.  Full of seafood with a creamy sause.  Delicious.   We've had tacos and burritos, all good.  Also, they serve alcohol for those looking to have a drink.

Lizzie's Cafe - Lobster Rolls

Ocean City - Rt. 1 and 142nd

Tried Lizzie's Cafe and felt we had to try the lobster roll since that's what they have plastered on the front of the building.  If you are looking for possibly the best lobster roll you've ever had (sorry, I haven't been to Maine), this is the place.  They have 2 varieties, New England and Connecticut.  We tried the New England Lobster Roll which was served cold as opposed to the CT which was warm and had more butter.  It was great, lots of lobster, seasoned perfectly on a buttered, grilled roll.  However, don't go there if you are on a budget.  The Lobster Roll was $37 and was about 6" long.  We got one lobster roll, one garden salad (no meat) and a slice of cornbread (no drinks, just cups of water) and our bill was over $70 for the 2 of us who split everything.  We left pretty full mainly because the salad was large.  On top of the expensive prices, the online ordering (which we were told is the only way to buy something) automatically puts 15% tip on your order (even for pickup).  I'm glad we went and will recover from the financial hit but I doubt we'd go back unless we hit the lotto.
